On the 5th, 9th and 11th of May we organise a face-to-face activity on hydrogen technology and green hydrogen for secondary school students.

The SEAFUEL project, co-funded by the European Interreg Atlantic Area Programme 2014 – 2020, participates this year in the Miniferias de la Ciencia y la Innovación en Canarias, an initiative of the Regional Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment of the Canary Islands Government, through the Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation and Information Society (ACIISI), which will be held from 5 to 11 May, with a proposal aimed at secondary school students.

The activity programmed for this edition is the “Gymcana at the first Hydrogen Plant in the Canary Islands. Visit the SEAFUEL pilot plant to learn about the operation and components of a hydrogen plant”, which will take place on 5, 9 and 11 May at the facilities of the Instituto Tecnológico y de Energías Renovables – ITER – in Tenerife (Canary Islands).

Aimed at secondary school pupils, the Gymcana is designed to explain, in an entertaining way, basic concepts about hydrogen technology and the production of green hydrogen, and how the SEAFUEL project hydrogen plant works. The participating students will be able to learn first-hand about the milestones achieved with this project and visit the hydrogen plant, the first installation to generate and accumulate green hydrogen in the Canary Islands.

The activity proposed by SEAFUEL is part of the wider programme of activities coordinated by ITER, a partner of the project, which can be consulted at the following link.

More information on the miniferias and the full programme of activities that will take place in the Canary Islands can be found on the website of this initiative: https://www.cienciacanaria.es/miniferias2022/
