SEAFUEL project invites you to participate in the several activities that are organized in the island of Tenerife during the month of November on the occasion of the celebration of the Science and Innovation Weeks in the Canary Islands and the European Quality Week in Tenerife.

The activities to be developed by the Tenerife Energy Agency (AIET) in collaboration with the Institute of Technology and Renewable Energies will focus on awareness-raising actions on the use of hydrogen produced by renewable energy sources and seawater as an alternative fuel for transport under the SEAFUEL.

SEAFUEL will participate in the two most emblematic events of the Canary Islands Science Weeks, the Science Fair of La Orotava (November 11, 2018) and the Science and Innovation Mini-fair in Tenerife (November 14-16, 2018). In both events, AIET and ITER will have a SEAFUEL information stand in which they will inform the attendees about the project and will develop H2 demonstration workshops.

Furthermore, the activity “SEAFUEL – Renewable Fuels for Transportation” will take place at the ITER facilities from November 20 to 23. This activity will consist of guided visits to the Technology Walk of Renewable Energy of ITER and an introduction to the SEAFUEL project, which will be complemented by a practical workshop on hydrogen and its application to the transport sector.

SEAFUEL has also been included in the “Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) action panels” of the European Week of Quality 2018 in Tenerife for its contribution to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The objective of these virtual panels is to disseminate experiences, good practices, projects, initiatives and ideas related to these objectives that are promoted by companies and entities of the island. Therefore, they will be highlighted on the website of the European Quality Week; on the website of the Tenerife Quality Observatory and in the Quality Observatory Bulletin of Tenerife and will be projected during the conference “Quality is success” organized on the occasion of the celebration of the World Quality Day, which will take place on November 9, 2018 at the Trade Fair Institution of Tenerife.

The European Quality week is an initiative of Cabildo de Tenerife that is coordinated by the Insular Center of Quality and Responsible Consumption, and the Science and Innovation Weeks are promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Trade and Knowledge of the Government of the Canary Islands through Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society of the Canary Island (ACIISI).

These actions are part of the dissemination and communication plan of SEAFUEL project that is aimed to promote the project and increase awareness and public acceptance of the hydrogen technology.
