The Tenerife Energy Agency (AIET) in collaboration with the Institute of Technology and Renewable Energy (ITER) will organise its Energy Day event “SEAFUEL – Renewable Fuels for Transportation” from June 11 to June 14, 2019 in Granadilla de Abona, Tenerife, in the framework of the Energy Days of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW).

AIET and ITER are excited to take part in the EUSEW Energy Days with SEAFUEL project and think it’s a great opportunity to raise awareness about the use of Hydrogen produced by renewable energy sources and seawater as an alternative fuel for transport among the local population of Tenerife.

The activity “SEAFUEL – Renewable Fuels for Transportation” will take place at the ITER facilities. The guided visits will consist in an introduction to renewable energies along ITER´s Renewable Energies Trail and then will continue with a more in-depth presentation of the SEAFUEL project complemented by a practical workshop on hydrogen´s application to the transport sector as an alternative fuel.

These actions are part of the dissemination and communication plan of SEAFUEL project, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, aimed to promote the project and increase awareness and public acceptance of the hydrogen technology.

This activity, which is aimed at the local population and students, is free of charge and will take 2 hours. They may be booked in two shifts: at 9:30 or 11:30 hours. Prior registration is required to attend the event which may be done through the visits form available here or by sending an email to visitas@iter.es.

The event will be an opportunity to demonstrate why sustainable energy is important to citizens, and explore how to ‘shape Europe’s energy future’ by introducing new solutions for clean transport using the available natural resources of the island.

Every year, hundreds of organisations and individuals participate in EUSEW. Partnering under the initiative is an opportunity to team up with EU countries, regions and communities to promote sustainable energy initiatives and the move towards renewables for clean, secure and efficient power.

All events that are part of #EUSEW19 #energydays will be published and promoted on the EUSEW website.
